In Oct 20,2 011- our RS meeting we will be doing a Cookbook called " Only In My Cupb0ard" We will be using only recipes we have already stocked by October. This is to help us recognize if we have the very important ingredients in our storage to complete meals in case of extreme emergency. ARE WE REALLY PREPARED?! You're invited to take a picture of each recipe you submit to place in our cookbook, there is a food storage recipe book on this website http://www.theideadoor.com/ search for Basic Food Storage cookbook Thursday, July 21, 2011,


We will be showing how to store your food in Mylar pouches. I will bring some Kool-Aid,and pancake mix. You can bring your own ingredients if you would like. It will be at the Greenville Ms. Ward. We will have a great time ! At 6.30 p.m.

this would be a great time to check over your 72 hr kits, since summer is coming in, this would be a good time to add gator-ade or some kind of rehygration kit
Or how about making your own?

Rehydration Kit

1 qt. container
4 c. water
1/4 -tsp baking soda
1/4-tsp Real Salt Sea Salt
1/4 -tsp potassium chloride-Or No Salt
2 1/2 tsp Sugar

Mix all Ingredients together place in the fridge, Sip a couple of tsp. throughout the day,
This formula has the right balance of ingredients to restore your electrolytes, do to dehydration

Orange Colada Punch

This is my familes favorite holiday punch
2pkg- Orange Kool-Aid
2pk - Pina -Pineapple Kool-Aid
4 c.- Sugar
2- Sunkist Navel Oranges-(sliced thin)
2- gallons Water
1c. Orange Juice

place all ingredients in 2 punch bowls , or a large enough container, chill for 1 hr. Serve.
To Store :
add all dry Ingredients together place in mylar bags
If using Ziplock of freezer bags Place in freezer or cool dry place,Use at once after removing from freezer.
The plastic may sweat in humid weather.

Bread Mix For Storage



Tired of putting together all of your ingredients for your favorite Bread recipes? Here's an idea!



In a plastic, or mylar bag place all your dry ingredients for your favorite recipe, Except yeast, which is best kept sealed in a freezer or refrigerator. Seal. Store in pantry up to 6 months

I,ve had mine stored for a year and my bread has still came out perfect. so are all my pizza bread mix. when ready to use



Just place in bread machine add liquid ingredients . follow recipe instrution, wala! Fresh baked bread.



My recipe Bread Mix For storing

3c.flour , 1 tsp salt, 1/2 c. sugar, 1tsp dough conditioner,

place in bag seal up . don't forget to label and date each bag Store . Follow my Mama's bread /roll recipe when ready to use.

Kool-Aid! Ohh yeah!

Have you ever wanted to add a variety of flavored drink mix to your storage. Try this!



In a large bowl mix 1 cup. of sugar to each packet of Kool-Aid mix. Stir. place in storage container or mylar bags, measure by the cups 1cup mix to 2 qts water. you can add more or less sugar if you'd like.
